The
Tomball Police Department is now taking applications for its 16th annual Citizens Police Academy (CPA) beginning April 2.
Community members 18 years of age or older who live, work, shop or attend school in the City of Tomball are invited to submit their application.
The CPA was established to build on the relationship between the Citizens of Tomball and the Tomball Police Department by increasing participants' awareness of safety issues and by giving citizens a better understanding of the issues and risks that shape the way officers perform their duties.
All academy students will be provided with instruction, demonstration and hands-on guidance in many of the following law enforcement activities:
- Felony and Misdemeanor patrol stops
- Crime scene investigation
- Building clearing
- Simulations and live fire house activities
- F.A.T.S. (Fire Arms Training Simulator)
- DWI scenarios
- School related crime
- Trauma in Law Enforcement
- Dispatch function and communications
- Accident investigations
The 2019 class will run weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm beginning April 2nd and culminate with a graduation ceremony on May 28th.
This is a FREE class...There is no charge for participation!
Applications may be obtained from the Tomball Police Department Records Division from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The application needs to be notarized to be considered. However, TPD is offering notarization at no cost on weekdays from 8 - 4.
