Families and friends crowded into the Tomball City Council chambers on Dec. 21 to honor two new officers, three dispatchers, and a public safety officer who all received badges just days before Christmas.
"We don't hire officers. We don't hire dispatchers, and we don't hire public safety officers," Tomball Police Chief Billy Tidwell said while addressing family members. "We hire families. This is a family business and we are all in this together."
After taking their oath of office, the officers were introduced and received their badges, which were pinned on them by family members. Those who received their badges included:
Heather Taylor-Police Officer
Brandon Lopez-Police Officer
Cecilia Cantu-Public Safety Officer
Kayla Mundowswky-Dispatcher
Brittany Cooper-Dispatcher
Kimberly Brandon-Dispatcher
After the ceremony, the new employees and their families were treated to refreshments at Tomball PD.
